Sometimes Madeline just likes to hear herself make noise. Her babbling, aimed at no one, will be interspersed with halfhearted coughs - not because she needs to clear her throat but, I think, because she likes the way it sounds.

It's just "girl" talk. Today, baby girl talk to her animal friends. Seven or eight years from now she will be talking with her girl friends by phone, text, and email. Who knows what forms of communication will be out there for her in 7 years. And once she starts - there is no stopping her.:)
